[Terraform] Terraform 입문 - Cloud9에서 간단한 실습하기

0. Terraform이란?

• Hashicorp에서 개발한 인프라 관리 도구.
• HCL(Hashicorp Configuration Language)를 통해 AWS뿐 아니라 Azure, GCP, NCP 등의 다양한 클라우드를 관리할 수 있다.

 

1. Terraform 장점

IaC(Infrastructure as Code)의 장점

• 원하는 시점에 배포 가능
• 수작업보다 빠르고 안전하게 배포 가능
• 코드이기 때문에 그 자체로 문서화, 변경 사항과 커밋 이력이 남기 때문에 버전 관리 가능
• 코드 리뷰를 통해서 변경되는 인프라스트럭처 확인 가능
• 모듈 형태로 재사용 가능작업 공간의 모든 .tf 파일을 읽고 인프라를 구성한다.

1. 선언형 언어

• Terraform은 구성될 인프라스트럭처의 최종 결과를 선언.
• 변경 이력을 알 필요가 없다.ex) EC2 10대 구성 후, 5대를 추가로 구성해야 할 경우 EC2 resource의 count 개수만 15로 수정하면 된다.

2. Master/Agent 구조가 아니다.

• 모든 서버에 agent형식으로 terraform을 설치할 필요가 없다.
• terraform을 설치하여 인프라를 관리하는 용도의 서버만 하나 있으면 된다.

 

2. Cloud9에서 Terraform으로 VPC 프로비저닝하기

1. Terraform 설치
   • cloud9 환경에는 이미 Terraform이 설치되어 있으므로 별도 설치가 필요 없다.
2. AWS Configure 설정
   • Access Key, Secret Key 및 Region과 같은 aws credentials 저장
3. Provider 지정
   • Provider예를 들어 테라폼으로 AWS 서비스의 컴퓨팅 자원을 생성하기 위해서는 aws 프로바이더를 먼저 셋업해야 한다.
   • 테라폼과 외부 서비스를 연결해 주는 기능을 하는 모듈.
   • Terraform에서 지원하는 provider

 

3.  기본 Terraform 명령어

terraform init

• terraform init 명령어는 프로젝트를 terraform을 구동할 수 있는 환경으로 만들어준다.
• terraform 최초 구동 시 반드시 필요한 명령어

# terraform init

terraform plan

• terraform plan은 .tfstate 파일과 실제 클라우드에 구성되어 있는 내역을 비교하여 현재 작성된 terraform 코드로 생성되고 변경되는 내역을 보여준다.
• 실제 환경에 적용하기 전 검증할 수 있게 하는 매우 중요한 명령어.
• terraform 코드의 문법적 오류가 없는지도 검증할 수 있다. (프로그래밍 언어에서 컴파일 단계)

# terraform apply

• terraform apply 명령어를 실행하면 terraform.tfstate라는 파일이 생성된다.
• terraform으로 구성된 인프라스트럭처의 현재 상태를 보여준다.
• 데이터베이스 비밀번호, 계정 액세스 ID 등의 정보들이 포함된다.

terraform fmt

가독성과 일관성을 하기 위해 현재 구성파일을 자동으로 포맷팅

 

terraform validate

구문적으로 유효하고 내부적으로 일관성이 있는지 확인한다.
